How am I supposed to help with these rules
I can't give advice or opinions or do anything but sit and absorb. I've been a listener(on a different account) for all of 6 hours, had three chats, and all of them were terrible. Two of them I was accused of being an "idiot", one by a "psychologist", in which I assume they we're both the same person from different accounts, because I wouldn't tell them how to do something. This is crap. Psychology has always been my passion, but if everytime I open my mouth I ruin something, or someone is angry and nothing is ever accomplished, I'll just go be a janitor somewhere and mind my own business. I know that not everyone is right for this kind of stuff, but I have never ever had problems helping people until now. What are your experiences with this?
Sorry. Honestly, I'm just frustrated as hell at the moment with how this has all started. I follow the rules and get blamed and degraded for it. How do you guys handle this stuff
@sensibleSailboat it is really very difficult, isn't it? :O
we really have more flexibility than you think *wiggles*
like, as far as the advice thing, yeah, i mean, you should let the other person do much of the talking and lead the conversation as much as possible but you can give them little nudges in the right direction, just have to be careful.
like if they're worried about what sort of dessert to have, you can't say, "i think you should get ice cream", but you *can* say, "how about ice cream?"
is a very subtle difference and you still have to be ultra-extra-lots-much careful that you're not putting ideas in their head but rather directing them to follow their own thoughts to appropriate and healthy conclusions, but :O
*snugs* ur gr8 fer tryin n sometimes we get members that are not very pleasant or receptive, but *shrugs* is wot it is ^-^ <3
