Im not sure what to put, Trigger Warning for everything
Hey people, I'm not in a mood to explain things very well, I just go straight to the point.
Last day I attended my first session with a counselor for the first time of my life, she told me I had suffered from anxiety & overthinking so long that I need pills so my body will get calm.
I hate to admit it but she's right, it's been years since I dealt with mental health issues. Waking up suddenly with heart racing at night, being so shattered that very little things would break you dawn, I know I need the help.
Atm I'm so varnable & damaged, I feel my heart and brain are so hurt.
So probably I will use pills and go to the therapist my counselor recommend, but I'm not happy about it...
I feel I won't be myself after using it... Or my creativity & intelligence will fade away with each uses of a pill.
I'm not ok, after talking with the counselor, I feel so drained & weak. In different scenarios I didn't act strong and didn't done the right thing...
I'm just scared, thinking about the fact that for how long my body suffered from depression, overthinking etc brings give me awful feelings.
Being the younger sibling, I very much tried to help my family emotionally, and I was successful.
I was often told you have a mind set of a +30 person (I'm not lying) but atm I just feel like an teenager, who is not strong...
Out of little things I would cry and it's so hard for me to stop.
By -not so important- things, my brain starts to have this unpleasant feeling, like numbness with pain, and my heart will go crazy sometimes.
I'm too drained, I know there is always a challenge, or more, for every single human, but right now, I don't think I did very well.
Long Story short, I feel seeing a therapist and using their pills means that I gave in & I'm not strong enough...
Please, please, share your thoughts if you felt comfortable with. And if it's offensive, please just don't hurt me

Seeking help is a smart and proactive move. Seeing a therapist and receiving medication is not giving in, rather it is the complete opposite...it is taking steps towards overcoming something which is proving challenging for you. It is brave to open up and courageous to seek help, especially when feeling so vulnerable and down. It sounds like you have a hard time showing compassion to yourself.
You are doing okay. It is not easy, and no-one is in exactly your shoes, so there is no real comparison between what others do and experience and what life is like for you. Be kind to yourself. It is not weak or a failing to need help or need medication. It might be worth considering that being brave is not being without fear, but rather it is acting even though you ARE scared. Likewise, being strong is not the absence of frailties, but how one seeks to overcome challenges.
You got this! We believe in you.
@NobleSeeker hey sweetie 💖 how are you feeling are you recovering well from the surgery??
I see anxiety and depression like this monster who lives within us and without warning he rears his ugly head and tries to take control of us. so therapy and meds isn't like we are giving up its more like saying we are ready to confront you and learn to keep you under control💖 taking meds is always a personal choice, but it's not gonna get rid of you it's gonna help get rid of that monster. Gives you a giant tiny hug 💗💗 whatever you decide to do that will be the right choice 💖 and we are all here to help support you every step of the way 💗
@Tinywhisper11

Please stay strong, because your one of the super cool & super kind people I met on cups 🌱
@noble seeker, it's very tough to accept opposite version when we belive we are doing strong enough than so many. As you are successful I family making and innyour personal life , that amount of pressure demanded you more than what you can do normally. So used more energy I feel. If you use medicines may be it helps to neutralise and making you little slow down. But as you feel msdicin s use means accepting you are weak. It's all how we are taking things to our head and how strong those feelings strongly rooted in our behaviour or thinking patterns . If you feel or belive you can make things happen without medicines , it's good and try couple weeks or months and see the progress.. if it not helps much and you need little bit support to come back , you can go as per your councelling advise. Be aurround with people who knows you and your strengths. They will give good support to you time to time . Talk to listeners here as much as possible to get back your balance as earlier. We will never be strong always ..but better to accept the situation and taking action is not weakness but it's really helps to become strong ..its all about how you realise your potential and challenge yourself . All the best .
I am very sorry for typos. I don't know how to edit .in this app. If edit the text is possible in this app, please help.
@NobleSeeker
if your doctor recommends medication and you decide to take it, it doesn't mean that you aren't yourself anymore. It's just a choice you make in order to deal with the challenges in front of you. There's no need to be ashamed of those things or think that means you're not you anymore. You are still the core person that you are, even though some surface things may change. Besides, everyone is always changing anyway. Embrace that, but also maintain your core values.
Hey, dont worry you will be fine, not saying out of the blue i have had also same experiences just fight through it bro you are so strong but you just dont know it.
I know people with anxiety and overthinking are one of the most strong people in the world they have so many things to deal with and they do deal with it.
Bro i get it i have adhd and sometimes my brain does a lot of crazy ***. Sometimes out of the blue i remember my breakup, sometimes i just feel th pressure is killing me the academics are getting too overwhelming, but trust me bro it doesn't last forever i know it is hard for you ti believe it in the moment but just hang on it.
I know for the first time it feels wired to go for counseling it feels uncomfortable it feels unnecessary it is like i have my *** together i dont want to change. But bro changing is like evolving a pokemon you get stronger, you get more powerful, you understand youself more.
See i dont have any experience on medication but it is for your own good just take them when you feel overwhelmed.
Your creativity and intelligence doesn't diminish rather it gets focused you get smarter you feel like you got some superpowers. I know you may be scared to take them but like nike says, just do it. Jokes apart they will help you.
I would suggest start journalling just a suggestion no offence i have tried it it worked for me you can try it may work for you whenever your brain feels wired just start to write whatever your brain is thinking i helps a lot!
You are doing really well you just dont know it, please bro keep fighting you are very very very strong. All the best!!!!! Or Congratulations!!!!! You have travelled this far you have a really beautiful journey ahead always there is sunrise after dark night. Dont lose hope i am here for you always. And as David says, Stay Hard Kid. Just kidding you are already hard.

Oh hun, I’m so so so so sorry you’re going through this. I know exactly how you feel, I went through similar and I can tell you I wouldn’t wish this on anyone
First I want to validate EVERYTHING you’re thinking and feeling. You clearly have been through so much and you have every right to feel how you feel about what you’ve been through, how you’ve had to be the emotional anchor for your family (possibly breaking generational curses and trauma from the sound of it), to feeling disheartened about what the counselor said. My Heart goes out to you ❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹
One thing I will say from my own journey is that meds don’t have to be forever, esp with something like this where you can absolutely take meds and do therapy and re-train your body and brain to stop being braced for impact 100% of the Time. And when you’ve worked through enough things you can ween off the meds safely. I went through this, so I feel your pain and I’m on the other side, years later empathizing with the struggle as well as being proof that meds don’t have to be forever
Personally I also got really into Gems and all that fun stuff and that plus therapy and meds is how I got where I am today, happy. Finally.
Sending you lots and lots of healing vibes
