Want to trust people

I feel like I don't give people a chance and I distrust them immediately. There's so many crappy people out there. I use to be a really crappy person myself but I'm on a mission to improve myself. Really if anyone knows a good method for improving trust, positive thoughts, feelings I would appreciate it.

Dear Victoria,

As an option you could try to act like youtrust them, even if you feel the opposite. Just imagine how'd you like to treat a person you trust and value, and do it "against" few people near you.

It could happen that it'll return back to you in a moment and in a way that you'll get that feeling of safety with a special person, which later could make it easier for you to give another chance to the rest or at least few of them.

Sure there's a chance that it won't work sometimes, or even it won't work mostly, but anyway I'm sure you'll have successful "attempt", which worth "failed" one and are only ones that counts as important.

Disclaimer: I'm not a "professional" in this field, just was in places and situations, where distrust was normal and eventraditionaland subjectively creepy people were all around, and this method worked for me to get some highly valuable persons intom my life, which are among my closest friends now.

Hope you'll have a lot of great experience offered by new people entered to your life soon,

Best,
M.A.

Watch The Fault in Our Stars or any sad movie with someone. Studies shown that crying or any emotional responsealong those can fast track he feelings of trust and comfort

Oh god, I need help with this too. Worlds #1 Misanthrope over here.

Victoria,

In my personal opinion, trust is a function of listening. From listening you get sympathy. Sympathy evolves into empathy. In empathy you foster the ability to trust because that person you listened to has irrevocably trusted you.

In the act of listening, you are mutually giving a person a chance. You could see 7Cups as a platform to play out/practicethese skills in the real world.

Of course, it's just a personal opinion.

What kind of questions do you ask yourself when you meet someone new or have the potential too?
