Just trying to get better

November 2nd, 2014

It's early morning here. I am going through my daily withdrawal from [edited by Anomalia to remove medication specifics]. Although I am weaning off slowly it's hard. Over 2 months I have reduced from [edited] to [edited], but I still have 2 hours every morning when I have the shakes so bad I can't do anything but sit in the dark and wait till they subside. If you have anxiety issues, try to find a way to deal with them that doesn't involve benzos, they are a trap. Anyway, I am just trying to pass the time till the shaking stops and I find concentrating on posting on my iPhone helps.

You need to talk to your doctor! I was on a benzo-type drug too, and when I went off cold turkey, I suffered the withdrawal symptoms. Unfortunately, you need to gradually wean yourself off of this drug and this takes time. Hang in there; I know how tough it is.

I am weaning slowly, Stonewall, doesn't seem to help. Just have to tough it out I guess. Thanks for the support ☺️

Still discuss this with your doctor. I refuse to use Benzos now because of the side effects. To me they're nothing but bad news.

Were you taking them recreationally or from your doctor? Because I've done probably every opiod and benzoout there for 10 years and then quit cold turkey this past January .. the whole left side of my body is crippled like I had a stroke. I twitch, get charliehorses, pain in my hip, shoulder, whole left side of my back, and only headaches on my left side. Pills are addictive, not a joke, and I wish I would have never done them!

Nothing recreational TransAm, strictly by the book, just a GP with s loose hand when it comes to prescriptions. Before I was diagnosed I did my time with booze, coke and speed back in the 70s, all an effort to self-medicate. Sorry to hear about your troubles; can anything be done for you?

I don't say anything to my doctor b/c I'm scared. First of all, I'm only 29, narcotic abuse is so bad these days and I don't know if he will even believe me, so I doubt he would take the time to do an X-Ray or CT Scan unless I had the best insurance out there .. this world is very corrupt. So I just deal w/it. But it's getting worse. I partially think some of it was also caused by my seizures. I've had a lot of terrible seizures that probably broke a few bones, but now it's just effecting me? I don't know. But I'm scared to tell my doctor anything.

Well maybe you should change your doctor if he scares you or would jeopardize your wellbeing for whatever reason. This is a serious issue and a doctor could give you hints or tips to overcome those panic attacks you're having (not necessarily with medication; he could give you breathing exercices, concentration exercices, I don't know). Never EVER put your health, whether physical or mental, in second place! Find a doctor you feel comfortable with and share everything with him. Good luck!
