Social anxiety and work
So, I've recently crawled out of a year and a half long bad anxiety/depression hole to fairly moderate levels. I'm better, but still have Bad days. This week, I've been pushing my limits a bit to try to connect with people at work who make me nervous- Yay me! It's not that it's gone particularly badly, but damn- why is this so hard and exhausting? And in general, how do people manage to work full time? It's so painful!!
OMG! It is so very tiring. For a while, I was the 'boss' with the office door I could shut. That was pretty nice to be able to hide.
Now I am a teacher, and a father. I am constantly 'on stage'. It is absolutely exhausting some days. Other days are not quite as bad.
Be patient with yourself.
...if only I didn't have to do all the work. That would help. Oh well....

I don't mind doing the work as long as people leave the Junior High 'stuff' at home. I'm not doing this because I'm your friend. I'm doing it because it is my job. Don't talk junk behind people's back. Don't start rumors. Don't take other people's food from the fridge. Flush the toilet.
Come on...You would think all that nonsense would stop. It seems that people actually believe that they achieve more when a co-worker achieves less. We're all in this soup together...pass the carrots.
