Strange Behavior
Hey everyone,
I thought about posting this in the literature section, but it seemed more appropriate on this thread. I've been a writer since I was 12 years old (the year my dad left). When I was in my late teens I stuffed it all into a large duffel bag and tossed nearly a decade of writing into the trash. I decided I was going to begin again, no longer the woman I was before, and that I didn't necessarily want to recall those specific memories. Seems simple enough, right? Well, I'm 25 now and recently had the same desire wash over me. How come? Can anyone else relate to the writing process and/or repeated impulsivity?
Thanks!
When we write, we are essentially giving a part of our soul, our personality, down on paper! As we mature and grow as people, we feel the need to shed old skin,in real life we get rid of bad friends, change the way we dress etc and I believe we do the same thing with our work, we feel like that's not us anymore!Thatsmy theoryanyways:)
I completely relate, I actually find it very theraputic to get rid of my old pieces once in a while. Hope i've helped!
