So I've noticed a pattern over the past few years. February to May I'm super happy and enegretic but june to January my mental health goes down hill and I'm generally sad for no reason and go back to self harm

Could someone please tell me what this is called, that way I'll be able to seek help

I am not a professional and can not diagnose, but from reading your statement it sounds like you might be suffering from some sort of seasonal affective disorder. The most common one is associated with happiness in the summer and depression in the winter, but I think other forms exist. Are you able to talk it over with a professional at all?

I agree, it might be worth talking to a professional, as I cannot diagnose for sure.

However, is your life markedly different during those periods of time? If not, it could be SADs. Perhaps try taking some vitamin D, as there is some evidance that SADs occurs because of a diffiency of vitamin D that we usually get from the sun during summer months.

Best of luck, and I hope you can get some answers soon. :)
