ocd
After a misunderstanding with my supervisor and a scolding from her my ocd was triggered. I have intrusive thoughts, doubting my self- worth and wanting to punish myself.
Anybody has any similar experiences or knows of any strategies to deal with the situation?

Hi, Gal! Thank you for reaching out ❤️
OCD is tough to deal with. While I don't have any specific advice to give, one thing that works for me is to continuously remind myself that it is okay to make mistakes because we are human. Also, sometimes I like to talk about my feelings with the person so that they can help dissipate my worries. Do any of these methods sound helpful?

@Musicgal89
I am so sorry that happened to you 😔 It can be really tough with OCD to be triggered like that (especially in a work place setting).
Please know that a single misunderstanding does not change your self worth. I am currently working on untangling those thoughts myself. Working with my therapist to trace these thoughts back to "core fears" and confronting them. Then ultimately change the narrative (using I-CBT).
We have an OCD community in the Support Plus Subcommunity btw!
Here is the OCD taglist
We also have support sessions Wednesday 8pm EST.
i have developped OCD from the age of 15. I don't know what triggerd it but it's been controling my life ever since. I'm 31 year old now and feel like i'm far behind in life because all my energy and time go to my compulsions.
