What's something new you've learned about yourself in the last three months?
@Hope
In the last three months, I have learned that I am capable of much more than I thought possible. I decided to take up ice skating. I'm not a youngster, and in January, I fell and fractured four ribs, which required a recovery period of two months, during which I did almost nothing physical due to pain at even simple breathing.
Upon encouragement of my husband, I purchased new ice skates that are figure skates that fit very well, and also arranged to have lessons. The lessons were eye opening, and also, I found out I have muscles in places I didn't expect. One of my coaches has very high standards and is always pushing me to exceed my previous skills. I found that to be refreshing, and also great to engage in an activity where I can only think about what I am doing at the moment. It's totally engrossing.
I'm learning new vocabulary: swizzles, loops, spins, arabesques. I have new friends, since I see many of the same people when I go to the rink. I have learned that I can learn new things. My posture has definitely improved since one of my coaches always says things like, "Posture! Eyes Up! Always Camera Ready!" Lol. This makes me laugh, and the laughter is good.
