What was your favorite recent book or article, and what did it inspire?

I loved "The Language of Flowers" - it is a story of happiness and hope for someone who has had very little joy in her life. The story is not happy all the time, but somehow it is a beautiful story. I also loved "The Scentkeeper's Daughter" - very unique tale. Both are kind of "coming of age" stories. I think I enjoy stories that feature strong female characters who overcome adversity.
