Hello!

I know not everyone out there can be grateful to you for what you do for them.. But I personally love expressing my gratitude.. Bacause I know how much people love to be appreciated for the little things they do for us..

How does being grateful make you feel? :)

KInda gross, I don't like feeling humble at all.

@miikandhoney haha I can relate. At some points in my life eg college I felt pressure to always be this humble doormat letting profs & other students treat me w/o respect because I didn't have a full-time job where I regularly contributed to society. I contributed plenty though anyway. I felt guilted for taking my needs into account eg not overwhelming myself by getting too connected to too many people (I have Aspergers & take longer to process relationships.) I'm an Asian woman w/ special needs, a formula for society telling me I owe others more respect than I owe myself, which is absolutely not true. I owe myself the most respect since I've been there for myself through the worst even when no one else was. I still appreciate what others do for me like a lot but I need to make sure that doesn't drown out my respect for myself and idea that I'm a strong, successful woman who's overcome a lot and can do it again, that I won't crash & burn if someone I'm close to leaves me, that I can handle everyday life. So I hate when I feel humble to the point it drowns out other emotions (good & bad. I'd rather feel angry than overwhelmingly humble for example because anger has more release & humility reminds me way too much of how I used to feel when I was depressed.) I don't take anger out on others. I know how to channel it. Humility is trickier for me. It leads me to let people take advantage of me. So I can only handle it in moderation. It's important for me to have some gratitude though. It helps me see the good in people & feel good about helping them. I try to separate appreciating others from humbling myself. I like picturing myself as a superhero saving the world. If I'm saving the world I don't see a problem w/ indulging myself w/ a metaphorical cape. My metaphorical cape store is open to all. I think everyone should feel great about themselves & others, evening the playing field by incresing everyone's self-esteem rather than decreasing it.

It makes me a little bit happier, because it reminds me of the good things I do have in my life, even when things aren't going so well.
