Gratitude For Thanksgiving

As Thanksgiving rolls around, I've been thinking a lot about how most of my time working and trying to achieve my goals I have very little time to actually think about what I actually have and should be grateful for.

Here's an insight I had trying to practice gratitude for the past weeks: Gratitude is often reactive (when after we receive something or when we achieve something we are thankful for it), yet what if gratitude can be proactive? Perhaps being thankful for the situations we may be in no matter how good or bad and thankful for the mystery of the future that will bring us. For me, taking this stance has helped me realize that there is so many things to be grateful for in my life and consistently look for things to be grateful for.

How has being grateful changed your outlook on life?

For me being grateful taught me to be content and to cherish the little things. Seems to have so much meaning/value.

That's so true! Being grateful helps us focus on the things we have and not the things we want. Therefore we feel a lot more content being grateful.
