Growing Through Dirt

This post was inspired by @comfortableNight4463 quote post!

One of my favorite quotes is: "Every flower must grow through dirt"

I think that's profound as it suggests that in order to become something beautiful one must go through the trials and tribulations to get there (the dirt). This can apply to so many things in our lives as there are so many 'flowers' that we desire to grow.

What are some of your flowers that you were able to grow through the dirt looking back?

1. One of the biggest goals I wanted was a relatively fit and healthy body as a child and teenager I was very underweight and skinny. However, looking back this goal of mine required 4 years of weight-lifting, proper nutrition and healthy habits to nurture proper body growth and health! There were days where I was absolutely exhausted, days where I felt like no progress was being made. Looking back this flower of mine really did grow from the dirt made of the sweat and grime that I went through trying to make it!

@sunnyWriting4806 Amazing post! Loved the analogy. The lotus flower is one of my favorites as it is able to emerge from murky waters in the morning and be perfectly clean.

That is a really good analogy honestly!!

For me, the dirt has been represented by both cerebral palsy and childhood trauma. Needless to say, I feel as though (at times anyway) that I've been growing through dirt for some time. But honestly, at this point I am used to it (in a good way) and have learned things about myself on a super deep level.

Aside from my background though, I'm starting to learn that life itself really *is* full of all kinds of this dirt, and we just have to keep at it, day after day. :)

@sereneSunset26

Wow thanks for sharing! I'm so glad you were able to use these hard life experiences to grow into the person you are today. And that's a good realization I totally agree that we're still in life's 'dirt' in many aspects of our lives.
