Humans are oversensitive to the threats in our environment that might make us overlook the positive things in our lives.

One of the simplest techniques scientifically proven to boost happiness is the gratitude diary. Every day for the next 2 weeks, and then once a week thereafter, simply write down 3 good things that you are grateful for that have occurred recently.

Doing this exercise for 2 weeks has shown to have a positive effect on happiness for up to 6 months. It helps rewire the brain to scan for the positives and helps you better notice and therefore pay attention to, the things that bring you joy.

Great insight! I totally agree with you that we're more prone to look at the negatives in our lives and things we don't have.

Keeping a gratitude journal on paper or even just conscious thinking has definitely helped me realize the there is so many things to be grateful for in life. This mindset also eases a lot of worries that I have about my future and questions if "I'm good enough".

Thanks for sharing!
