This actually happened a couple of days ago. I received an email from my college about a tuition overpayment and I should expect a refund within a couple of business days. The amount was a few thousand.

I was pleasantly surprised because I was currently trying to figure out how to replace a piece of furniture that the pets broke (it was at least three years old and a gift). I was also able to pay down some credit bills and put extra into savings. I won't have to stress about holiday shopping and I can actually do some donations as well.

I know money isn't a cure-all but when a fairly substantial anount arrives when one least expects it, it can help.

that's incredible! I'm glad you were able to prioritize paying bills and saving! that will help you so much in the long run. Youre doing marvelous things with your decision making and I hope the holiday season is equally as wonderful.

@gracefulApricot2230 Yes. In truth, I would like to do more donations but there always seems to be something else that comes up to take priority. So, since I wasn't expecting this, I figured I could manage to share some of it. I know this time of year can be quite hard for many.
