Greetings, amazing souls of our community. It's your friendly neighborhood spirit, HachiBee, here to summon the spirits of Halloween and invite you to a spine-tingling gathering like no other! 🌕✨

Just a fun little activity I thought we could do this Halloween, where we can bond with our share love for spookiness and get to know each other 😁🕷️

We are all scattered around the world and probably heard of folklore monsters/creatures from our grandparents or the elders or even that elderly neighbor every kiddies fear 🧟🧟‍♀️🧟‍♂️

So in the wake of the Halloween, let's share our favorite folklore monsters and supernatural stories and spook each other. Or even make up your own Halloween creature monster, the possibilities are endless! 👻🌚

My fellow thrill-seekers, gather 'round our digital campfire, and let the phantasmagorical storytelling begin! 🎃

Let me start, just wanna share a little story when there was lil kiddie me 😂

So there was little kiddie me, being told about this monster called the Manananggal (Ma-na-nang-gal).

It's a human-like monster here in the Philippines with large bat wings and long tongues, most commonly a woman, who can separate it's torso from their legs. Stories say that they leave their legs in dark forests every night when they go hunt, because it's the time when they most dangerous but also vulnerable.

They like to feast on pregnant women and children who don't sleep at night, and you can probably imagine what they do with those long tongues. They can also smell a pregnant woman from miles away, and in their human forms, they will, sometimes they pretend to be pregnant too to, befriend a pregnant woman so they can feast on them when the night comes.

Ways you can repel them though, look for their bodies in the forest and put salt on the top of there severed lower body part. Made sense right, imagine putting a salt on a wound 😂 Then there's garlic, much like vampires, they hate it. You can hang a bundle of it at the top of your door, that'll stop their pesky tongue. It can't be hurt with just any knife, it has to be a tail of a stingray.

So knowing all of this, kiddie little me is someone might call stupidly brave and wanted to see a Manananggal for my self. My mom told me this story btw 😂

Of course, I would do any rational curious kiddie would do, when my Auntie got pregnant, I kept a look out through some nights to wait for the beast to come by. I was on high alert at every wing-flap noises and kept close to my Aunt's interaction with women.

Then one night, there was a really loud noise from outside and mom told me I ran out to look for it. And of course my mom did what any rational mom would do when her little three-maybe-four-year old kiddie ran out dead of the night and chased after me.

She said I was so upset and cried when she carried me back home 😂

Come to think to think of it, I never figured out what was that noise 🤔

Feel free to share your monster or supernatural stories too. Would love to hear them 💜
