Simone Biles
After what happened with Simone Biles during the summer Olympics, I began to admire her even more. She put her mental health before her gymnastics and faced a lot of backlash, but she took care of herself before anything and I think that's really admirable. She is a great role model for a lot of young girls. I found this quote from her and thought it was very relatable: "Always work hard and have fun in what you do because I think that's when you're more successful. You have to choose to do it."
What do you think of this quote?

Totally agree! Simone Biles sets a great example of caring for your mental wellbeing as the #1 priority. Seeing her do that makes you feel, if she can do it, I can do it too!
And I love that quote...when you feel happy and content, we perform at our best.

I agree with you. I think it's important to realize our mental health is as important as our physical health! Taking a leave for mental care I believe is the equivalent of having a break due to a physical injury. I respect that emphasis and I think society should adopt what she said a lot more!

Everything is a "choice" to us. It is up to us all what we "choose" to do with every single thing we think, feel, decide, choose how we react, act, how much effort we put into things, how we follow-through and "choose" to not give up, etc. It is all within our own choices. Simone is a great athlete. Great trained athletes learn this. I had to learn this with the level of an athlete I was when younger. So much is centered within your mind. Most people would not realize this, but this is where a lot of the focus comes from to do what most people see as the success the see as the greatness or what they would applaud. It is all digging down deep within and "choosing" to go on and carry on, no matter what to do things you put your mind to doing. It is a choice you make within and make so often. You make the choices within and to yourself, to no one but yourself. This is the strongest place that things will ever exist.
@IcedCoffee211109 Thank you so much for your inquisitive reply. I totally agree and I think the mind is a really powerful tool, depending on how we use it. :)

thank you, fruityPond! Our minds sure can be very powerful, once we get them focused right and keep them on what we want to focus on. I know from personal experience that psychological problems can often take much more of a stronger, determined, focused, planned efforts to keep ourselves on our tracks we want for ourselves. It can be done though. It just takes some learning what we each go through during certain times, what happens when we go through, "X" and "Y" or more, and what we find best to help ourselves. Sure, others can be around to help us sometimes and sometimes there are some very helpful people at certain points in our lives. But, all in all, we are here with ourselves, 24 X 7, and many people do come and go. It is good to find things and ways that we find help us on our own to bring us up, to get and keep us going, to help us stay determined,...with work as with anyone, we can and will achieve and do things we want to do. We can look back and it feels so good!!!!!!!!!!!!
FruityPond, I am here for you anytime. I hope you can do a lot of soul searching and find things for yourself that are good for you. Yes, It does take often setbacks, but from it all, we do learn lots and it is good to learn--we learn not only what didn't work but what works best for us. It is all a big plus!!!!!!! Hugs FruityPond!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You've got this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️👍
