What I've learned so far
I know it's not much but something I've learned is that what you say to people has a very powerful effect on them. It's easy to talk, and not think about what we are saying or what deeper meaning our words might have on people. But at the same time we have to understand that we cannot help others without being aware of ourselves.
I was closed minded and really didn't pursue my emotions or be mindful or aware of how situations or people made me feel. That gave me a false sense of contentment and a feeling like I was fine. And maybe I was fine, but I wasn't living. I wasn't alive.
It took a while but with the help of some very close friends and my family. I began my journey towards a fuller more emotionally aware life. I can't say how thankful I am for websites like these and all the supportive people willing to lend an ear when needed. Last thing, journaling has been something necessary for my growth. It's my outlet. It's what I thrive on and use to learn from and express myself. It's been my silent white knight assisting me when I need to feel or analyze myself. It helps me reflect with myself and the people in my life.
