"Don't give up...don't ever give up!"

So last night I was watching Jim Valvano's farewell speech at the 1993 ESPY awards. He was actively dying of metastatic bone cancer at the time (only lived 58 days after his speech), and it was a chore for him to just show up and give this speech.

During the speech, he implored people to laugh everyday, to think everyday, and to have their emotions moved. Along with that, he formally set up the Jimmy V Foundation for cancer research.

Anyway, it's about 10 minutes long, and well worth the watch; I'll try to link it below. And per the topic title, he ended his speech with the phrase "Don't give up...don't ever give up!" And whether it's cancer, anything health related, or just one of the many trials life can throw at us, I feel it is so important to remember to literally never give up.
