Gratitude magic happens when we start listing our daily blessings!
Increase your blessings a thousandfold by making a gratitude list and counting your blessings positively!
Why is it important to make a gratitude list?
One of my favorite books about the power of gratitude is “The Magic” by Rhonda Byrne. In celebration of the holiday season, I want to share one of my favorite gratitude quotes:
“You've heard people tell you to count your blessings, and when you think about the things you're grateful for, that's exactly what you're doing. But what you may not have realized is that counting your blessings is one of the most powerful practices you can do, and it will magically change your entire life.
When you are grateful for the things you have, no matter how small they are, you will see those things increase instantly. If you are grateful for the money you have, however little, you will see your money magically grow.
If you're grateful for a relationship, even if it's not perfect, you'll miraculously see even better. If you are grateful for the job you have, even if it isn't your dream job, things will start to change so that you enjoy your job more and all kinds of opportunities for your job will suddenly appear.
The flip side is that when we're not counting our blessings, we can fall into the trap of unintentionally counting negative things. We tell negative things when we talk about the things we don't have.
We tell negative things when we criticize or find fault with others, when we complain about traffic, waiting in lines, delays, government, insufficient money or weather. When we tell negative things, they also increase. ”
Make it a habit to write a daily gratitude list.
To start counting blessings, you need to make a gratitude list, but how do you make one? Rhonda Byrne continues to give advice.
This will help you make a simple list of ten daily blessings in your life. Not only do you write for what you are grateful for, but you also indicate why you are grateful for that specific thing, person, or situation.
She offers these ideas as expressions of thanks and gratitude:
I am truly blessed to have what because why.
I am so happy and grateful for the WHY.
I am truly grateful for the WHY, WHY.
With all my heart, thank you for why why why.
Finally, Rhonda recommends, after you've finished making your list of ten blessings, go back and read each one. You can do this in your mind or out loud.
At the end of each blessing, say the magic words three times: "Thank you, thank you, thank you." Immerse yourself in the grateful feelings of this blessing as much as you can.
