Proud of Myself Because: I've learned more about myself and done new things.

Back in April/May, I was having some really bad relationship issues. To make a long story short, my girlfriend wanted to dump me to be with someone else. She essentially lied to me about why we broke up and it left me really broken and distraught for weeks. I lost all motivation to do anything and didn't feel like I was happy anymore.

Fast forward to today, I've since recovered from my break-up. One thing I learned was that I relied on my (now ex) girlfriend for external validaiton and love. I needed her to remind me that life was worth something because she cared about me and stuff. I've now realized that the only person I need to be happy is myself. Being alone is less daunting than it used to be. I'm actually much happier as a single person now. I've learned that I don't need anyone, especially someone doing toxic things to me, to be happy, that I'm fully capable of being happy on my own.

I'm doing well in school and enjoying all my classes. I'm involved in multiple campus organizations and have awesome housemates I live with off-campus. I've even begun an application package for Marine Corps Officer Candidate School, and so far my recruiter is impressed with my background and accomplishments as a person and a student. Life is great, and I don't need someone else to make it so.
