Where can we find Happiness? ♡

What is the first thing that strikes your mind when you think about Happiness? If I were to ask you what makes you happy, I’m sure you would find many many answers that are worth mentioning. We can find happiness anywhere and in anything. We find happiness in libraries, museums, amusement parks, cottage houses, sunflower fields, mountain peaks, people, hobbies, in the midst of a lake in a boat beside your best friend or the love of your life. You can find happiness, not in every place, but anywhere that captures your heart.

Here’s the thing though, it’s not hard to find happiness. The very thing that evokes these little feelings of euphoria, contentment, safety and well-being is what helps you find your happiness. It’s not hard because thankfully, we find joy in the little things we do, the people we talk to and the places we go. We find joy in little moments. Much like picking up a photograph containing a moment in time where you truly felt happy; it makes you feel joyful everytime you look at it, even though time has passed.

Let’s break happiness into 3 steps so we can get a better understanding. Happiness can be depicted through Pleasure, Passion and Purpose:

Let’s start with Pleasure. We find pleasure in, for example, listening to music, reading a good book, drinking your favourite kind of tea and like I said before, moments. We find pleasure in moments as well.

Next up, we have Passion. For example, when you go out to your favourite place, that riverbank that you sit by to watch the water flow in streams, much like the thoughts in your head that you can turn into a beautiful piece of writing. Or you climb onto the highest mountains and revel in the beauty of the landscape before you (yes, nature tends to have that effect on us 😆) if you are the adventurous type. Or if you could even go over to your grandma’s because she happens to have this beautiful garden with different types of flowers…and you have a passion for gardening! These are some of the examples for how passion can bring about happiness.

Finally we have Purpose. You know that feeling when the things that you find pleasure in and are passionate about, bring forth this understanding that it’s all part of something greater, that it has a purpose and meaning in life. This leads you to feeling content and fulfilled, because now you have something to strive towards. Every move you make, your decisions, your interactions, your plans and ideas all have a purpose. You believe that the things you do are a part of the bigger picture. The bigger picture could be anything; you becoming a better version of yourself, or achieving your dreams and establishing a good future, or even being a blessing to others because of your kindness and aspirations. It all gives you a sense of purpose.

It is important to know that Happiness does not come to us in major situations only, we can even find it when we least expect to, in the little experiencies that we have.

So now, let’s answer some questions:

- What are some things (simple activities) that you take pleasure in doing?

- What is one hobby (or more) that you are passionate about?

- What activity, hobby or place brings you a sense of purpose and fulfilment?

Thank you for reading! ♥

Hello Nomakh! ♥

Painting sounds like an amazing way of expressing your happiness, as well as being surrounded by nature and meeting new people. There's a certain type of joyful feeling that comes from those activities.

I am glad that you actively identify positvity and happiness in areas of your life; you acknowledge them and have a passion for them.

I like how you put that. making a difference in someone's life can be a way of slowly working towards something bigger like making the world a better place by bringing more positivity into it.

Thank you for reading and engaging in this post! Take care 😃

- What are some things (simple activities) that you take pleasure in doing?

Reading, listening to music, being in silence, cuddling in a soft blanket.

- What is one hobby (or more) that you are passionate about?

Cooking, studying.

- What activity, hobby or place brings you a sense of purpose and fulfillment?

Once more, cooking and studying. But the one that really takes the cake here is teaching.

Hello! ♥

Those are indeed calming and meaningful activities, hobbies and passions. Also being in silence is like...embracing calmness, away from the chaos of the world out there right? That's a really good way to meditate.

I see that both cooking and studying are hobbies you are passionate about and gives you a sense of purpose; teaching doees sound really purposeful because of the responsibility to instill knowledge in others, hoping that it would work towards a better future for them.

Thank you for taking the time to read, take care! 🙂

- What are some things (simple activities) that you take pleasure in doing?

I love to write by hand. My job is almost entirely digital (there are some instances where a source only exists in print, but this is very unusual), and now that we are working remote I don't have access to the printers at my workplace anyway. I've adapted, and in fact it is much more efficient to have annotations on online sources instead of on printed versions of them, but I still write by hand when I need to synthesize, or when I'm writing for pleasure at the end of the day.

- What is one hobby (or more) that you are passionate about?

Choosing gifts for the people I value on holidays. I have realized over the years how much a thoughtful gift can convey, and how enjoyable it is planning and then actualizing that gift. At this point I would consider gift giving an important hobby of mine.

- What activity, hobby or place brings you a sense of purpose and fulfilment?

Writing.

Hello there Star! ♥

There is something naturally delightful about writing by hand. I am glad you find it pleasurable to write by hand, since your job requires you to do things digitally most of the time.

i agree with you on what you said about how much a thoughtful gift can convey; with the intentions and memories included. It's thoughtful of you that you would take the time out to plan the gifts that you give to others that you consider it a hobby of yours!

Also it's good to know that writing gives you a sense of purpose.

Thank you for reading and answering these questions! Take care 😊
