How to uplift others (and yourself)!

It's very saddening to see a loved one being down and feeling bad about themselves. And even more tough is being the one who is upset.

It's very important to recognize when others are down or when you yourself are 'feeling like you are not your best self'.

Here are some tips to recognize someone who might be feeling down;

1. If they are uncharacteristically quiet.

2. Unusual Lack of motivation

3. Self-loathing

4. Being moody or angry

And here are tips to make them feel better;

1. Listen to them; support them without judging. Don't offer suggestions unless they ask; just be with them.

2. Invite them for a (healthy) meal. New research shows that simply boosting your intake of fresh fruits and vegetables can dramatically increase your happiness and well-being.

3.Take them for a walk outside. Natural light can boost our mood

4. Ask them to point out some of the positive things that are happening to them.

5. Invite them to join you in supporting a cause or helping someone else

6. Compliment them

I hope this post was helpful. Is there anything you would like to add to this list?
