What’s the best piece of advice you’ve given or got?
Positivity plays an important role in many relationships, when we're feeling down we can be lifted up with a hearty piece of advice.
I'll start 'what's happened has happened, you can dwell or you can move foward, just remember people will always be beside you, we're on the same sea, just different boats' 💙
@KatieTheBigRockOne that just by the fact I am trying to become a better person, shows some effort and a step to being better

This one comes from the father of my closest friend, for whenever I enter a bout of self-loathing or self-deprecation, or for whenever I recall people who have said unkind things about/to me to tear me down:
"There are people who know different."
There are people who know I'm not those horrible things my toxic thoughts or anyone else tells me.
It's done wonders for encouraging self-love.
Thank you for the icebreaker. ♥️
@TheAutumnWitch thanks for this reply! The father of your friend has good sense 💙i think that piece of advice and how you've interpreted it is beautiful, when in a sense of sadness, self loathing or remembering unkind words you can truly think not everyone thinks that.
Others see it differently therefore what has been said or what you may think can't be fully true, you are more and better than negative thoughts and words about you 😊

The best piece of advice I have ever gotten was from my father back when he was alive and younger. He told me to always "...to get your life together....". What he was clearly saying to me in that context in a written letter back then, was for me to get my life together with God and get myself where I needed to be for eternity. Today, I carry the hope that comes with and from that, now that I have been able to do this, even 25 years after his death. He was a wonderful father.
@Amelia2324 Thankyou so much for such a heartfelt reply, I can see you've long carried what your father said 💙sometimes words from close ones stick with us most.
I can agree with what he said, i really like the way you've interpreted his words too. Valuing a religious relationship and getting closer to God can be a great thing if its important to you :). I can feel your respect and love for your father, even 25 years later you view him wonderfully and hope to carry and honour his words 😊thankyou so much for sharing that, it was lovely to read.
Wow! Thank you so very much Katie.
