This is easily one of the more important posts that I've come across here in the forums. Mainly, because I have had to really internalize the message that I really am enough. I had the misfortune of being raised by two VERY emotionally immature parents who consistently preached the opposite message.
So yeah, it is really important, I feel, for all of us to hear that on a daily basis. Even if (or especially) it's just in our own inner monologue.
@sereneSunset26 I understand better than i'd like to
My parents are pretty much the same so i get it
@zealousGrace5023
You have my empathy on that one, for sure.
I suppose that's the silver lining of our kinda situations is that, like you said, we tend to understand the concept of self-care on a much deeper level just because of our experiences. I know that if I have kids, they will most definitely have a different (and certainly hopefully more streamlined) experience than I did. Especially with the concept of being enough. Because we are. :)
@sereneSunset26 Yes most definitely. Ending that cycle of emotional immaturity and trauma is so important. I wish the best in your journey towards that :)
