Anaphylaxis

Honestly I haven't personally, but I know how scary it is to see the person seeing another one react.

I have a severe allergy to strawberry that grew since age 4. Similar to a peanut allergy, I can't taste, touch, or be nearby within ten feet. Because of this I try to stay away from it. As long as I'm careful I'll be okay.

However...

I have tried to do so for unhealthy reasons and when people see they in turn tell me that it would be really, really scary to see me like this and are afraid that if that does happen they won't be able to save me (because odd me needs a new epi pen). That always hits home for me.

No one has to suffer not only for the person having the reaction but for the persons to watch their loved ones suffer.

In order for that not to happen again (though I know it will), we would need to spread awareness towards safety against serious allergies. Make sure the person has their epi pen. If something does happen I suggest getting an ID bracelet...anything to help a person or persons.
