Gift from my Daughter
Background:
My daughter is 44 and has Downs Syndrome, limited intellectually (or so we think sometimes) She can be surprising. 🥰
My wife took her out shopping yesterday and when I came home from work, she was so excited to give me a gift that she bought for me, a coaster.
Maybe she knows more than she is letting on? 😘
This has been me, the last few months and I definitely do not let on that I have been this way. I keep it all to myself.
Maybe that's why they say "Angles are disguised as children with disabilities"

I once had a friend with autism... Non-verbal autism. I mean, he spoke, but very little.
He was hard to relate to, hard to talk to, hard to interact with.
Then I got his number.
His mind ASTOUNDED me.
I underestimated him because I wasn't meeting him where he was, only where I thought he should be.
People with disabilities are BRILLIANT, incredible, empathetic, mature, talkative (even without expressing themselves), understand sooooo much, even if they can't communicate.
People with Down Syndrome are wonderful, incredible people.
She felt your hurt. She saw it. Perhaps more deeply than you saw yourself.
Love her. She's an incredible woman. <3 <3 <3
