It is painful when losing anyone close to you.

My cat, my baby girl who was 15 years old and 9 months old passed away near end of November 2024. I am struggling so hard not having her around that she was my joy of life and now I feel like I really could just give up on life to be reunited with her in heaven.

Thank you. It is very hard to. I at least have my job and two new kitties that keep me occupied for the most part.

two years ago, my cat passed away, and I still cry like it was just yesterday. It never does get easier. Losing a cat it's just as hard as losing a person that was very important in your life. Getting a new cat or animal in general will make you think that it will help, but when that realization hits you that it will never be the same as it was, the grief hits you all over again. Stay strong.

Exactly! Connection with each animal is different than the last because they all have different personalities too! The cat I had before the one I lost last November was my truest best friend (always there watching out for me even when I wanted to be alone) who was a male that passed away in December of 2008. I had a hard time grieving over that loss too but in a different way from this one. She was my girl , my fur baby that I didnโ€™t share responsibility with no one else on taking care of her.
