Life after Loss

I lost my mom 2 months ago. My father is very emotionally manipulative, everything he does comes at a cost. Today, I went to work after disagreeing with my coworkers, I walked into work and spent the entire day feeling alienated.  I have a migraine, haven’t ate and I’m finding I’m missing my mom more than ever so I’ve been crying for hours. 😮‍💨😪

My heartfelt sympathy for your loss. I imagine it is very difficult handling challenging social situations when your grief is so recent and raw. It can be hard fathoming that the world keeps turning when the light of someone close to us goes out. It is understandable that you feel lonely and alienated when the one person you wish could comfort you is no longer there. It is a pain that is so very personal.

There is no magic combination of words anyone can give that will take away grief, and perhaps even as despairing as it might make us feel, it also reminds us how deeply we loved the person we lost.

I am sorry to hear that the relationship with your father is not giving you the support and unconditional care you need right now, and that you are having a difficult time with your colleagues. It sounds like it is having a considerable impact on you.

What do you feel you need right now, and how can we help ease some of those feelings of alienation?

@BastionKnight I think I just need to feel seen and heard. I talk and people like my dad & coworkers don’t really hear me when I talk. I need to start asking myself why I care so much I guess. I don’t know.
