Hello. I am struggling right now with my life. One of the things is we have been helping a teenage boy who is a friend of my son and he also works for us. His home life is really bad so he was staying with us on weekends and his aunts thru the week. Since summer has come he has not been staying at our house anymore. It is weird to me as he told me a couple months ago that he would probably be at our house every night during the summer that he worked He has not he did recently get his own room at his aunts but he still complains to me about how he doesn’t want to go home or how the young girls his aunt has are loud and noisy. He was at our house every day after school and over nights on the weekend since Nov u til beginning of June. He seems fine at work and is laughing and being normal but doesn’t stay anymore and when I asked he kinda blew it off the only other thing is that his friends supposedly said it was weird for him and I to be snap chatting each other I told him we are like mother and son and his friends don’t understand that. It hurts my feelings as I have enjoyed having him around and I like helping him and I have given him so much but I don’t know how to get him to open up about what changed..any suggestions?

I can see you built up a strong friendship and you were there for him when he needed someone and I'm sure he appreciated that. Tennagers need their own space and people their own age. It would not be anything personal at all. I would be glad that he's happy and settled and content in the fact that you already got him to this place. Sometimes all people need is some support to stand then in their own two feet, wishing you well 💜🥰
