Loss of grandparents 41 days apart
lost both of my grandparents just 41 days apart.
They weren’t perfect people, and neither was our family. There were struggles, mistakes, addiction, and difficult times. But they were also loving, stubborn, caring people who did the best they could with what they had.
My grandma was sassy, sweet, stubborn, and always tried to put the people she loved first. My grandpa was funny, stubborn, kind, and always knew how to make people smile.
I spent part of my childhood with them and even lived with them at one point. Some of my best memories are with them.
Losing one grandparent was devastating. Losing both only 41 days apart has been a pain I can’t fully put into words. Some days I feel okay, and other days the grief hits me all over again.
I miss them both more than I can explain.
Lately, I haven’t been okay. Since losing my grandparents, I’ve been struggling more than I expected. I’m not sleeping well, I find myself zoning out during the day, crying at random times, and feeling overwhelmed by emotions that seem to come out of nowhere.
I’ve become much more sensitive, and even small things can set me off emotionally. Some days I feel like I’m functioning normally, and other days the grief hits me so hard that it feels fresh all over again.
Losing both of my grandparents only 41 days apart has changed me in ways I’m still trying to understand. Right now, I’m just taking things one day at a time and trying to learn how to live with this loss.
Mind you I lost my grandma on Thursday may 28th 2026
It’s only been 3 days but in the 3 days she’s been gone it’s been so hard and idk how to deal with it …
