My cousin passed

My older cousin passed a week before his birthday. I rarely spoke to him or any of my family after moving away and now I'll never get to speak to him again. One day I'll be older than he got to be and that thought makes me feel sick. I won't ever get to have those late night talks on my couch with him again or sing corny music by his side. I miss hearing his laugh when I spent time with him at my grandma's house. This was my first Christmas without him, I haven't been able to touch any of the presents I got since then. I never got to buy him a gift with money from my job or give him one of my paintings when I used to be passionate about it. No one lets me really talk more and I feel like I can't because I've been so disconnected. I feel like a horrible younger cousin and I regret not talking to him more every day that I could've. I'd give anything to talk to him or watch him perform one last time.

Hello

I am sorry for the loss of your cousin.  May you find comfort and peace through your fond memories of him.

I come from a large extended family with many aunts, uncles and cousins.  Most of the aunts and uncles have passed but many of the cousins are still alive.  For those I have lost I try to recall the good times we shared.  Talking about the fun time with other relatives helps us get through the difficult times.
