My sweet dog

I put my dog to rest today. He was a part of my life for 15 years. The pain is intense.

Everybody knows all dogs go to Heaven. And yours is watching you being in grief, don't get your dog to feel bad.

@mustluvdogs (offers safe hugs) I'm so sorry for your loss. Saying goodbye to a companion that's been by your side for 15 years is an unbelievably difficult and painful thing. The house feels suddenly quiet, all their things are still there and the grief can feel overwhelming. Nothing ever prepares you for this

If you're comfortable sharing, you could tell us a little more about him. What was his name? (no pressure of course) 💜

He was a Wheaton terrier mix with the kindest eyes. He loved sun bathing and naps. Some of his favorite snacks were apples, bananas and peanut butter. He was the best.

@mustluvdogs I've seen pictures of Wheaton mixes. They are absolutely adorable. He had really good snack favorites! 

We all grieve differently and at different paces. Don't let anyone tell you to just get over it. For me they are never just dogs. They're family, confidants, and companions.
Maybe there's something you can do to honor his memory? I've found that it helped me. I planted dogwood trees for my girls. Maybe you could make a memorial for him?
