Its been exactly 3 years since both my parents passed away today. And i have made a terrible mistake by destroying everything about them in order to move on with my life because i was sick and tired of constant thinking and bawling my eyes out it made me so tired. Now i can't even remember their voices and all i have is a picture of them on their own wedding that i got from my grandmother who also passed away a year ago.I hate myself so much for what i did i just wish I could go back in time and just not do that.I won't ever stop regretting and hating myself for what i did even for a second for the rest of my life.
@communicativeStrawberries451 hi sweetie ❤ I'm sorry you lost your parents🙁 you gotta remember at the time you cleared out their belongings, you were hurting badly😥 so please don't punish yourself for doing what needed to be done at the time. Thing is no-one can ever be prepared for the loss of someone, and coping, ways of grieving is different for each one of us. Perhaps find things that remind you of them a memory box you can take out when your sad. Could be little things like a toy, or a postcard from somewhere you all went. I understand my fair share of grieving, I'm right here if you need anything ❤ gives you a giant tiny hug ❤ take care of yourself

I’m so sorry for what you’re going through. The pain of losing someone close, especially both parents, is unimaginable, and grieving isn’t a straight path. Sometimes we do things to survive that we later look back on with regret. But those actions came from a place of needing to cope with overwhelming pain, not from a lack of love or respect.
Right now, it sounds like regret is casting a shadow over the good memories you had with them, and that’s really common in grief. But there’s no need to punish yourself. You made the best decision you could at the time to protect your heart. And even though you may feel like you’ve lost the connection to your parents, they’re still a part of you. Our minds are incredible at holding memories we think are lost; sometimes, even just relaxing, meditating, or talking about them with someone else can bring back pieces we thought were gone.
Remember that they would never want you to carry guilt for what you needed to do to survive. You showed resilience in finding a way forward, even when it was painful, and they’d be proud of your strength.
