Old grief surfacing during holidays

The holidays are bittersweet for me as despite having my birthday in this season I struggle with grief from past loss. I also lost one of my fur babies this year so it just deepens the old grief and loneliness. I'm finding it difficult to find the joy and since I also grieve the missing of what could have been in family relationships. I feel like an outsider in my family and am grieving that missed opportunity. Anyone else here going through something similar and any suggestions to get through this time of year?

Grief is so hard and isolating, it seems to be magnified more at this time of the year.

I'm glad you can come here and share, you are not alone here 💕 💜

Grief is something that nobody can come to terms with. It's not just the loss of your fur baby, but older hurts and the pain of feeling disconnected from family. Even though it’s your birthday season, it makes sense that joy feels hard to access when so much sadness is sitting underneath. You’re carrying a lot, and the loneliness you’re describing sounds really heavy. What you’re sharing is incredibly human, and you’re not alone in feeling this way during the holidays.
