Sadness of loss

I have had a fair share of animals in my life that have left earth to be in heaven, which were dogs, cats, and hamsters. Each one has been difficult in different ways and some more so than others.

I am still so loss in this world and have my moments that I cry over my most recent loss who passed away in November of year 2024.

Just thinking about how hard and unexpected of how much her health had went down hill until she passed away brings tears to my eyes.

Her name was Mindy who was a few months away from being 16 years old and never thought she would pass away before 20 years old because she always had a spunkiness to her all her life until a few months after she reached 15.

She was my baby girl (my only child). I loved her so dearly. She comforted me when I needed it and we brought each other joy.

Life is not the same without her.

I have a hard time wanting to live on this world without her.

My parents and I did adopt two 6 month old male cats a couple months after her passing that I share custody with them. I do the majority of spending money of providing stuff and care for these kitties on a daily basis, but I can’t bring myself to say they are solely my responsibility. They are great at keeping me busy and my mind distracted from my sadness for the most part.

I can always try to seem that I am not sad in public, but the sadness is always there and will never go away from all the loss that I have endured over all my life that includes animals and people.

@catgirl278 Im so sorry for your loss. Losing a pet can be as hurtful and dificult to navigate as it is with losing a human relative or friend. I too have my own baby girl, and just the thought of losing her makes me teary-eyed sometimes, so i can relate to how you are feeling right now, even thou i cant completely understand how deep the grief can be at this moment.

Just now its okay to feel how you are feeling right now, and its normal given the deep conection you had with her and the amount of years you spent together. As with any kind of grief, let yourself mourn for her, and be patient with yourself. The souls we meet in our time here will always be with us. Also, its okay to talk about it with others, you dont always have to hide away your pain.

I wish the best for you, and hope that, with time, you will slowly feel better🌸💕
