Depression Support Team - Look here!

Hello everyone!

There are exciting times ahead of us! Let me first introduce myself to those of you who dont know me yet. I am MissZ and I have been a listener for a bit over a year now. I am a chatroom mentor, a quality mentor and a group moderator. And now I am the Group Support Mentor for the depression support rooms! I am really excited about this, I have been a group moderator since the group support chatrooms opened in the end of last year and I have always been especially passionate about the depression support. So being the support team leader of those rooms is such an honour for me!

You all have signed up for the depression support team because you are passionate about supporting people suffering from depression in our group support rooms, that is absolutely awesome, we have the same passion, lets make the rooms safe, compassionate and supportive, together we got this! And you all are already doing an exceptional job, as group moderators and supportive listeners in the rooms, I am so happy to be working with all of you!

As your team leader I want to make sure that the rooms are a compassionate and safe place for members and guests to share and to receive support in. I want to organise regular lead support sessions and discussions in the rooms. I want to make sure that new moderators feel confident in their role and support them on their way to excellency. I want to organise events. I want to work with all of you to make the rooms a perfect place for support and care.

The first support sessions/discussions start off this week and we want to have a regular rotation of them. The first one happening tomorrow (July 24th) at 4 P.M. EDT in the Depression Support Room for members, so come and lurk and check out what we are planning to do! Eventually we will start with those discussions and support sessions in the Depression Support Room for guests and members as well. Do you want to lead a discussion? Do you want to team up with someone to lead one of our support sessions? Dont be shy, I will be there to support you and help you learn to lead a discussion. I am really looking forward to seeing all of you getting involved!

I will be a lot in the two depression support rooms, but I of course cant be around 24/7. So if you ever encounter anything that you feel needs to be addressed (e.g. forming of cliques, unsupportive members returning etc), if you want some tips on how to handle certain group chat situations or if you ever have any questions about the rooms, have ideas for improvements, discussion topics or generally about the depression rooms, dont hesitate to send me a message! I want us all to be working together to make the two depression rooms as supportive and compassionate and awesome as possible! (Please always use the warning system if you deem it necessary and use the group mod log if you feel that things are getting out of hand or certain individuals are dancing around the rules).
