People in chat are ignoring others
I see a lot of ignoring in the chat rooms. I see a bunch of members chatting about trivial things, like 'pooping' and video games ect, but when others come in to chat about a particular subject of issue, they are ignored.
If you are not there to give support or to get support, then go to facebook or somewhere else!!!
i completely understand this,i see it a lot.I just try to get as many people involved as possible so they don't feel left out :)
I agree. I've really given up on the chat because it's mostly trivial. But I do agree of that's what they need they should have it. Everyone doesn't cope the same
I find there is usually at least one person who wants to listen in a chat room. It seems to depends on the particular room and time of days for some reason. Sometimes if someone is truly interested in chatting I will send a private message and start a chat that way so that it's uniterrupted.
Yes, this does happen but all you can do is ask if anyone would like to hear you out. Some times listeners will be in the conversation and mods will ignore as well but you can always do a 1-0n-1 chat with someone who does try to reach out to you. Also, listeners can't reach out to members or guests they may have to be contacted. You can either click on their name and message them or ask them in chat for their link that will direct you to them :) hope this helped.
I've seen this mentioned a few times. I can only find the link to send a message to a Listener - not another member. Is that right? Is there a way to PM another member? Thanks!
I find this frustrating as well! It's a bit annoying to see some people who actually need help being ignored but at the same time we have to be compassionate with everyone, it requires patience and understanding.
Yeah, I completely agree with you.
I am totally agree ...I am glad someone mentioned it...
A guest enters chatroom says hi. Nothing. Guest says this is my first time here. Member says congratulations you want a cake? Guest says nothing more. AnotheR guest apologizes for behavior of meMber anD reccomends new room or listener. 2nd guest then receives warning from unidentified mod that they broke chAt rules??? When can we face accussers??? Why bother trying to help??
This actually happens a lot. Or making fun of the other person.,
that is not right at all....but happens ![]()
I get ignored almost all the time, it's like they only want to talk to the people they have talked to before.
I agree that no one whos reaching out for help should be ignored. But I also will respectfully disagree with the idea that trivial chat should be completely eliminated. Sometimes those lighthearted, distracting conversations are exactly what I need and they have helped me a lot in the past. It makes me feel included, I feel like Im having fun and smiling, and it helps me forget about my unsolvable problems for a while. The one thing I will say, though, is that if someone comes into a lighthearted chat and mentions an issue they need help with, the attention should turn to them so they can get the help they need. I definitely think both types of chats have something to offer and theres a time and a place for each. But if someone needs help, that should always come before the more pointless chats.
