Tips on being a Group Mod
I figured since the description says support for best practices, I would help by making a thread about it. I didn't see one, so apologies if it's already done. I was hoping we could list some tips on what we've found helpful. I have found that when I let entering mods know about the current chat situation (going well, maybe keep an eye on this, etc), they are appreciative and are able to enter with some knowledge of the current climate and what to expect. I just started doing this today and it went well!
I feel when a particular guest/member/listener is muted, they should at least be given a warning to change their behaviour.
I agree with you, Apple. It's essential to give warnings if we want people to improve and learn from their mistakes :)
Agreed. I always warn at least once, usually twice, before muting. Most members and guests here are not here to upset anyone and want to seek support for themselves. I have not found myself having to mute many people. They just sometimes forget the rules or push the boundaries.
