What are we doing about raacism???

For a long time now I have defended the mods on this site and I have defended the system for doing what needs to be done in chatrooms, as much as can be done. But my experience today definitely overshadows any of that faith I have placed on this site. As I was defending someone for their beliefs, I was called a terrorist because of my birthplace, and I was told to leave, because of my faith that I had never even mentioned in the first place. I handled it the best I could, I was neither rude, nor was I hurtful. All the while there was at the very least one mod in the chatroom, and not a single warning was given, nothing was done, and even after the mod started talking, nothing was mentioned about the blatant racism that I dealt with. The comments did not stop there. Generally, I've liked to consider myself a very lenient person, I do not give into hateful comments, and I do not flame chat. But today, I felt like my regard for the rules of the chat perhaps have been in vain, if other people are able to make such hateful, racist comments and get away with it. Where is the justice here? After all fo that, my comments asking the mod if they were going to do anything were deleted.

What am I supposed to make of this?

I'm guessing the mod, if spoken, would have been the type to say "just mute the person that upsets you". I know that many are like that. Although, I'm sure someone acting the way they did toward you would be a rule that they were breaking? It's possible the mod gave them warning popups but if they did then you probably would have seen a verbal warning first. And the messages erased.

But I know mod quality has gone down over time so I guess one shouldn't be too surprised.
