Am I overreacting??
My husband of 3 years has recently told me that he lost/misplaced his wedding ring and has not actively searched for it for the past 2 months…..although he also has a tattooed wedding band that we both got after getting engaged. Despite a brief separation all on his behalf last year he entered a new relationship and supposedly ended this relationship after reconciling with me shortly after divorce proceedings. I’ve inquired as to the whereabouts of the ring on several occasions and all he claims is that it’s somewhere in the house and he doesn’t have time to look for it. I told him that any wife would question the whereabouts of their spouses ring and he said that that’s not true and I’m overthinking things…..am I wrong? Please let me know your thoughts on this.

No I do not think your are overreacting .... but you might need to realize he may have gotten rid of ring when you were apart and just has not told you. how do you think you will react if it is something like that?
maybe you should not push on this and let him tell you on his own time.

he had the ring about 2 months ago and claimed to have misplaced the night of Valentine’s Day and from then on he hasn’t worn it….if he has gotten rid of the ring it is a real setback in this marriage for me because he knows how important the “rings” existence including the tattoo ones are. As I have told him on several occasions that I value my vows that I proclaimed to him and that the rings are a symbol of my eternal love for him and should be vice versa. If that is something that he has done (getting rid of it) that would be another addition to the countless disappointments that I’ve had to face in this marriage (lies, cheating/infidelity, manipulation, lack of respect, and narcissistic tendencies)…..I just know I feel like I’d have to continue out the grounds for divorce although it would be a shame.
