We need to do something about sexism
I have been a victim of sexism in the Support Chat Room, once again.
When a member has been sending sexist messages such as "girls have a bad behaviour, girls are impossible to understand..." : I have been warned and censored for saying it was sexism. I have been really respectful, but I am the only one blamed, as ALWAYS by the same community mods. I was told I was engaging in conflict by this sexist member and by the mod when I was just defending females. No one defended me as soon as the mod entered, because everyone denouncing those inequalities ends up being warned and muted. My messages were hearted and several females expressed the same opinions as me before this mod entered.
7 Cups is not a safe place for females. Not in the group chats, not in the private chats with listeners. I can't even count the number of sexist insults, comments and unfair deleted messages, mutes, and warnings I have received for defending myself from the sexism I was being a victim of. I really wished I could leave this place, but I don't have anywhere else so far. I took so many screenshots, made so many reports, even sent messages to mods. I never saw any results or improvements.
I don't have any power as a member. But some of you are mods and if we all talk about this, denounce it, maybe we could make this place improve.

Good for you, Butterly! Call it out every time! Sexism/misogyny/"the patriarchy" has no place at 7 Cups. We're all equal and should be supporting and encouraging one another. Thank you for being brave enough to speak up, Butterly. I'm proud of you! I'm a Room Supporter in that chatroom and will make more of an effort to be present. I'm usually more active, but recently started a new job and school, so I've not been around as much. I will do better about that. We can all work together to keep the chatrooms inclusive and supportive.

I empathize with you on this completely, as a female listener I've unfortunately had to endure some pretty misogynistic chats and even some sexual harassment. What I did was I would warn them up to two times, then the third time I'd end the chat. If they kept at it I would then proceed to report them. No woman should ever have to put up with any of that. I really wish there was more moderation going on against all of this.
@L1ly0ftheValley I'm sincerely sorry for all this, it's so horrible. Personally i think you shouldn't warm 3 times, but take action directly. 1 time is already way too much and deserves to be sanction. Thank you very much for your support under this post and I hope we will be able to improve things
Thank you to everyone who showed support for this message. I recognize quite a few of my friends/sisters from cups, and I thank you for being there, and for making this place so much better. It's not a surprise at all, but many of us, if not all, have to deal these repeated bad experiences. I hope things will get better. They need to.

Sexism has been a huge concern in all rooms and out in the real world. If you read the handbook at the end where it says "Safety & Reporting!
It says, " we care for you. Your safety is our priority. To ensure you are safe and everyone in the community, we need your help. Please take two steps to help us maintain a safe environment and community for all.
Step One: Follow the community guidelines. Prevention is better than cure. Ensure you read the community guidelines and follow them strictly. Please go through the community guidelines here:. https://www. 7cups.com/about/CommunityGuidelines. php.
Step Two: Report any incidents through appropriate channels.
Some forms which can be bookmarked and use when needed!
1.) Member-Member/Listener report forms... 2.) Verified Listener Behavior Report.... 3.) Username Change Form... 4.) Account Review Form. If you know the users username the one who was being sexist then report them and do and Account Review Form on them where the 7 cups people have to review their account.
