How to run in cold weather?

Hey there. So I've been wanting to start jogging really badly. Thing is lately is SO cold! I'm talking negatives (is not normal where I live).

I've thought about exercising inside my home but is not the same.. Seeing my surroundings and nature helps alot..

Does anyone have tips for this?

Also another question I have, I've heard listening to music helps alot while jogging. Is there are any special headphones for this? Since they seem to fall constantly so I can't imagine wearing them while jogging

@Booklover95 You can definitely buy special sports headphones! Any local techonlogy store should sell them :) Its great that you're trying to not let the weather stop you from running. It's summer where i live and the burning heat is what turns me off wanting to go out for a run!! I hope other people can give some advice for you :)

OMG the heat is such a pain!!! I just watch YouTube cardio or pilates exercise vids and exercise at home with air con 😂 too dangerous to exercise in crazy hot Aussie temperatures!!!

Hmm, good question! Weather can be a pain sometimes, especially extremes. Maybe try to wear sport clothing that keeps the insulation in (sorry if there's a special word for it, I have no idea!). Like form-fitted clothing with breathable material that traps in the heat. Also maybe wearing long sleeves and taking it off when you get hot whilst running?? The jumper can get in the way, but view it as an obstacle ;)

Oh that's a good idea! I had no clue such clothes existed tbh. Again I'm new to this so I'm finding stuff out.

Thank you for your suggestion! I was already buying some new sneakers so now I'll for sure check those clothes in the sports section :)

Thank you!

Hi! I run outside year round and you definitely need special winter gear. Places like Target sell reasonably priced layers and thin shell type jackets. Prepare to shed layers as you go!

I use wired earbuds and wear a knit hat, which actually helps them stay in place better! Dont forget to hydrate even though its cold, and personally I always carry tissues in my jacket pocket because my sinuses EXPLODE when I run in the winter. Other good thing about winter running is pockets! Good luck and stay warm!

Thank you! Honestly I was wondering that, how to keep the headphones in place (specially cause I have a small head and they fall). Your tips seem super helpful!

Thanks :D

Yourebsi welcome! I got my earbuds for like $6 on Amazon and they stay in fine, with or without a hat. Let me know if you want the link. Happy running!
