Jogging or running? Pros and cons? help!
So after me getting all ready to jogg in the cold I realised I exercise differently than other people.
Most people jogg, which is a slow run. Thing is I just run.
I've tried jogging before but my anxiety actually get's worst , so I go full on running. Is it bad though? For someone who's starting?
I realise I don't hold for that long, I hold it for like 8 mins running fast, then I walk, I run again, and so on and on.
Running is like therapy, I put all my anger, anxiety, depression, etc, all bad feelings into exercise. So it does help me mentally.
Yet I would like some advice for people who frequently jogg/run please. I want to know if what I'm doing is bad or not and how I can get more stamina?
@Booklover95 I exercise to relieve stress and anxiety , I do a fair bit of running myself as a part of my routine because if I dont loose my breath I dont loose my worry. What you do is actually better than jogging from exercise point of view, its almost like interval training where you get an intense exercise followed by something less intense . If it helps your wellbeing then by all means you should continue. But if you are looking to build some stamina maybe try running for a bit shorter until you feel like you have gotten yourself to the point where you are tired but can still carry on and the try to slow down and jog instead of running until you have to walk . If youre sense of relief from anxiety and other problems is the same as mine that should provide with the release but not then allow you to work on your fitness goal-stamina. Other than that theres all different ways to build stamina you could run as a form of release and do other exercise as well such as stepping or hill climbing for stamina as long as you eat well and get enough rest and generally listen to your body . But no theres nothing wrong with what you are doing at present
Booklover95 no problem happy to help
