I like to walk listening to music, afterwards I do some weight lifting..I wish I did it more but since it makes me feel good....perhaps my mind doesn't like that feeling and will find any excuse to not excercise...so what to do...

Washing the dishes.

Truly hope that a year from now I'm still not listing that as exercise! laugh

@C321 I enjoy running and hiking, too. I'd love to start up soccer again - I haven't played since I was a kid, but it would be nice to kick a ball around a bit.

I love hiking, but never get to go. The last several times I've gone, it's been a real struggle because I'm overweight and not in good shape, but I enjoy being a part of nature...

@SquarishEmu Do you use trekking poles? Those are awesome and really help take the pressure off your knees. You can always start with shorter hikes and build up, slow progress is still progress:)

@happycloud7o9 Are those the things that look like ski poles? No, I haven't used them. I probably can't afford them anyway.

@SquarishEmu Yes, that's them! Sometimes you can find great deals on them but if not, some people just prefer to find the right size stick out on the trail. Some people have thru hiked the Appalachian Trail using a stick they found instead of trekking poles. :)

I just consider my job exercise. Taking out a transmission, taking it apart, putting it back together, putting it back in, and any other jobs that need to be done. But honestly, as the years have passed, I have wrecked my bones and/or muscles by NOT exercising b/c I lift heavy things everyday. I also have to hold the heavy parts sometimes over my head, such as a gas tank, until whomever can screw it in and that has worn out my muscles also since I do not exercise them! Exercising is important!

My fave is running, always has been, but my knees/ankles won't take it any more. I do a ton of cycling now, love mountain biking and cruising gravel roads.

@CurtDenhamLPC I enjoy running, too. I'm hoping my knees hold out for at least a few more years. I've mostly been using an elliptical machine (which my wife tells me I shouldn't use for running), and I've just started using treadmills. I'd like to run outside when it gets nice, but the last time I ran outdoors I ended up hurting my knee, so I'm a little gunshy. I'd love to start mountain biking... I've found that running is a good time to listen to podcasts.

@maddy6 Me too! No other sport can provide an exercise to the whole body, and the the sport itself is really fun!
