7 Tips for Decision Making!
1) Between mind and intellect, listen to the intellect! Mind does things based on likes and dislikes. Intellect does things based on right and wrong. For example, I might like to hurt someone, mind says give him one. But intellect wouldn't let you do that if you listen to it. Result? No one got hurt, including yourself. Another example, mind could ask you to escape your duties and responsibilities, be lazy etc. But intellect would say do them, and after you do them and have a productive day, you feel good in yourself, isn't it?
2) Choose the Higher Role. Let's say you are a teacher and a mother too. You were grading the answer sheets of your students and you came across the answer sheet of your own child. Would you grade impartially because as a mother you want your child to score the highest? Nope, you should not. The higher role in this context is that of a teacher. And a good teacher would grade everyone impartially. 😀
3) Totality over individuality. Some action of yours could benefit you but harm the society/community. Should you do it? On the other hand, some action could be self-sacrifice in favour of totality. Totally do it!
4) (This is helpful especially when choosing the right profession for yourself). Know where your natural talents and inclinations are. Let's say a monkey is asked to climb a tree, it will happily do it, right? Its talent lies in climbing trees. But if the monkey is asked to swim? @_@ So, ask yourself which work you truly and deeply enjoy. Choose that as your profession! Which work would you enjoy doing even if there was less/no pay? Which work would you continue doing even when there are challenges and difficulties? Which work would you do even when there was no recognition? Ask, ask yourself!
5) Decision-making based on moods of the mind. So to explain this, I need to present to you 3 moods of mind. One is the sattvic mood, the second is the rajasic mood, and the third is the tamasic mood. Let me explain more if you are not familiar with these three words. The sattvic mood is when you are feeling calm, peaceful, and tranquil. The rajasic mood is when you are full of agitation. Tamasic is when you are very lazy and don't want to do any work and lie down etc. So, in order to make the best decision, first of all, work with your mind and bring it to the sattvic state. You will notice you will make the most quality decisions in that state of mind!
6) Notice what happens after you make a certain decision. If you feel a sense of peace and fulfilment after making the decision, it's a sign the decision is right. On the other hand, you will be accompanied by a disturbing guilt feeling after a wrong decision. This is also known as a conscience prick. So it's important you closely and keenly observe your mind!
7) Totally confused about what to do? Not to worry! Humility will help. The first step is to admit to yourself that you don't know and that you want guidance. Be totally humble like an innocent child to yourself. Mysteriously, in those innocent moments, you will be intuitively guided! 😮 Don't believe it? Don't have to, but try it once! Another option is to go to a person you trust for guidance, and just do what they advise. It could be your mentor, role model (your hero) you deeply admire etc.!

P.S. I don't have a trusted advisor. My best friend does not live in reality so I don't take advice from him.
@Gettingbettertoday Interesting!
