Support yourself and others on disability income with recipes and fun here!

Sharing strength, courage and wisdom with others prevents stress eating, poor decision making, depression and anxiety.

I'm hoping to be relaxed, stop eating fast food, gluten, and sugary processed type items and more homemade, nourishing and delicious meals...how about you? 😊

Thought of the thread: Feeling grateful and thankful for what one has increases self-acceptance, confidence and self esteem, and allows one to be centred, calm, peaceful, relaxed, still and present.

@Dallady

I remember getting frozen fruits (way cheaper than fresh ones) and making smoothies with them! Instead of paying significantly more for smoothies outside or you can make your own significantly cheaper.

@Dallady

Also adding some spinach to your smoothies! I used to hate the taste of spinach but when theyre in the smoothie you can't taste it. Get all the nutrients without the taste!!

@Dallady

Glad you found this useful - I have too - I've known about the book for a few years - they were given out free for awhile at our local Farmer's Markets. In the States, we have a program called EBT / SNAP that helps people with low income buy food - many of our local farmers markets also arrange matching grants, so sometimes $15 of SNAP EBT may be matched - so it becomes up to $30. - depends on the market. Just thought I would mention this.

That's fascinating...I wanna call around and see if there is anything like that! Oh, but maybe the season is over up here in Canada? Gosh I'm so out of the loop haha. 😊 😊 😊

I think Shepherds Pie could be cheap, and it can be eaten for a few days. Tuna Casserole is also cheap.

I also make what I call "Redneck Pot Pie". You just heat up some canned mixed veggies, and then mix them in to some heated up cream of mushroom soup. Make some biscuits in the oven, when done you can pour you a bowl of the soup and then add the biscuits to it.
