11 years of wonky sleep, I want to fix it!
I tried to make this thread before but it seems to have dissappeared into the void?? So I am sorry if this shows up twice.
So I've had bad sleep since I was 13-14 when my anxiety started to appear, I went through the equalent of high school here on an avarege of 3 hours of sleep every night until I got sick leave to talk to psycologists, which wasn't done until after school ended ( yay for no education...)
I have talked to psycologists, doctors and other people who claim to help and they all suggest the same thing, chain quilt to feel "safer cause the weight will make you feel safe", a chain quilt?! No thank you my quilt is heavy enough and if I had anything heavier I would feel like I'm suffocating. But they all suggest the same things and they give no real help so i've given up.
I have eaten some allergy pills that makes you sleepy during those periods when my sleep gets really bad, now when summer came and it was sunny and warm I went outside and was active for hours and got a lot of sun, but no difference in my sleep.
Before I could twist and turn for 4-6 hours before I finally fell asleep, now I fall asleep within an hour luckily which started about 6 months ago, some periods are worse tough and I end up getting no sleep unless I take the pills, I fall asleep between 4-6 in the morning and wake up around 1-3 during the day, then i walk around like a zombie until around 10-12 at night and after that I'm more active and feeling way more human then zombie, luckily for me I am on disability leave so I don't have a job to take care of, but daily things like laundry and dishes is draining quiet some energy already, I thought this would change after I started to be more active a year ago, i started archery and started going to a gym in august last year, well I do fall asleep within an hour most of the time but I still can't sleep before 4 in the morning, if I try I mess up my sleep all togheter and I will end up being awake the whole night instead, which is worse then actually sleeping, and will most likely spend the coming 2 months to fix my sleep back so I can atleast fall asleep at all.
@Ladypearl
I'm not a doctor (although I used to play doctor behind the garage). What is keeping you up? You may want to look up some guided meditations on YouTube.
You may want to look into Mellatonin. Some people say it works wonders.
@JeffWM Whats keeping me up is the fact I can't fall asleep even in bed, I would like to think theres nothing wrong with my mellatonin since I do get it, just at the horribly wrong time it seems cause I sleep like a pig once asleep and it takes me an hour or two to fight it and get up around 2-3 in the afternoon.
@Ladypearl
I've always had a problem falling asleep & staying asleep-- even as a young boy. I've had sleep studies and am on meds to help. I'd suggest speaking to someone smarter than me.
Keep looking. Remain brave.
