Middle of the night wake up

I usually sleep well once I fall asleep, but for some reason, for the past week I have been waking up around the same time (2:30 am) every nigh and I am like wide awake. Then my mind starts thinking of all the things that I need to do in the morning and then I am even more awake and you know how it goes from there....ugh!!

Anyone else have this happen in a pattern like this?

How did you break the pattern?

Any good tips on how to avoid thinking of all the stuff waiting for us the next day?

Thanks for any and all suggestions❤️

This also happens to me when I have many things on my mind or something important the following day. Usually, I think of all the things I have to do and I think of them because I feel like I might forget it till the morning. What helps is when I write everything down and try to get back to sleep. When this happens to me, I avoid looking at the time because when I do; it stressed me even more and the more I push myself to sleep, the less I end up sleeping. Sometimes I also use progressive muscle relaxation to help relax my body or mindfulness of labeling thoughts to stop elaborating on them and simply observe.

That happens to me a lot! Usually when I'm trying to fix a sleep schedule and sleeping earlier or when I took a longer than needed nap during the day. What I try to do to fix it is eventually for me sleeping at the same time (or around the same time) consistently helps a lot to get rid of these mid night wakes. Also preventing really long naps (short naps I find don't affect it too much).
