DanCat cocoa

This recipe has been in my family for 50+ years. We make it every Christmas.

Note: it costs $50 usd to make but it lasts an entire year

1 (20 oz) evaporated milk (dry powder)

2 lbs powdered sugar

1 (30 oz) box Nestle quick

1 Tablespoon cinnamon

1 (13 oz) chocolate malted mix

6 Tablespoons cocoa powder

1 (22 oz) coffee mate original

In a large trash bag mix in all ingredients together.

Pour in a mug 1/3 cup

Optional: Add whipped cream; If it's too hot add ice cubes

@DanCat1128 looks like a good recipe. I'm definitely gonna have to try it with my dad sometime.

It sounds tempting. I have a question: does the stuff freeze well? Because I'm the only one in my place & there is no way in h*ll I can drink that much hot cocoa at once...

@slowdecline48

No freezing necessary. You store it in a few giant plastic containers in the basement/garage/pantry.... The ingredients are all dry ingredients.

@DanCat1128 Yes, good point...wonder if it would taste okay with 1 lb. of sugar instead of two?... Don't get the wrong idea--the recipe looks great. It's just that a couple of the ingredients have sweeteners in them already. If there's a lot of sugar in something then I can hardly taste anything else.

@slowdecline48

In the rules of baking if you cut one ingredient by half you will have to cut all the ingredients by half. This recipe is very full of sugar.
